Book Title: When I was a kid and When I was a kid 2
Boey is telling us about his childhood stories trough writing and drawing. There so many little stories that make people laugh and remind of their own childhood.
What I think:
Reading these books are fun. They make me remind of my childhood and they are quite similar to Boey's childhood. I guess Malaysian kids' childhood are quite similar even everyone grew up in different family. Even if you are not a fan of reading books, you might love these books.
Very nice childhood stories that make connection to readers' memories.
This is Boey.
I'm lucky to have his autographs and took a photo with him.

Her alcoholic mom left the family, her dad doesn't take care of the family, her younger sister is free-spirited like her mom and leaving a child, Luke to Elizabeth. Luke have a so called imaginary friend, Ivan. For Luke, Ivan is real. For Elizabeth, Ivan is just a imaginary friend of Luke. Soon, Elizabeth can finally see Ivan for real but she doesn't know this Ivan is that imaginary friend, Ivan. Ivan always be there for Elizabeth when she need someone. Eventually, both of them fall in love. Ivan have more people that need him. The cycle goes on. Is Ivan Real?
What I Think:
This is an interesting story. I like it pretty much. Making friends is a job? Haha. Who knows this world need them in the future? Just that I felt quite down with the ending. People who loves each other should be together.
This is a story about how Holly move on her life without her husband, Gerry. Gerry passed away and left Holly alone with the notes he wrote for her monthly. Holly had support from her family and her best friends when Gerry left her. Gerry was so thoughtful and wrote Holly notes so that can make her move on her life easier. New clothes, karaoke contest, vacation... Holly did everything exactly what Gerry told her to do. With all the notes, she felt that Gerry is still always with her. She treasure every moments when she open those envelopes. She imagine what Gerry would say to her or laughing at her when she did something. Eventually, she find that she could move on her life after almost one year Gerry left her.
What I think:
This story is very touching. Gerry is a very thoughtful and sweet husband. But I'm sure no one will like this to happen in their life. No one will like it if your loved one passed away so young and you have no chance to grow old together.
